Fox Hunt

The Fox Hunt test went well, with the group coming within 25 feet of the the Fox. It was concluded, however, that the antennas might need some more attenuation. Hopefully during the next hunt they will be able to save little Timmy the harmonica player. In attendance were Adam NZ3S, Bud N3TIR, Larry K3VX, Bill W3WH and dog, and Carol KB3GMN.

Larry K3VX and Bud N3TIR were unable to find an attenuator at the last hamfest so the regular Fox Hunt will be postponed due to configuration of HTs and an additional Club's wish to participate.

Labor Day Walk

The walk starts from the park at 9AM. Once again Hams will provide communications for this event, so we will need to be in town by 8:30AM to be in place before the event begins.

If you are new to this type of event, this is a good place to learn. New operators will work with someone who is experienced. If you don't have a hand-held radio there are loaners available for you to use. As you come in to Washington that morning check in on the 146.790 repeater for your assignment along the route.

After the walk is over everyone will meet at the finish line. We have been invited to stay for food and refreshments.

Membership Meeting

/*Please welcome guest speaker Greg Clark KB3NMV from the Washington County Emergency Operations Center. Greg will present information about the emergency call tree that Amateur Radio operators will be able to participate in if the need arises in the future in Washington County. He will be able to answer any questions you may have about the call tree. This has been a long time coming; it was tested a few weeks ago and works great.

This is the first important step, we as Amateur Operators, like our fellow operators around this great country, can offer our community if the skills in communication are needed. I wish to thank Washington County Emergency Services on behalf of Washington Amateur Communications in allowing us as operators to be a part of the emergency communications team in Washington County. Anyone interested in Amateur Radio is welcome.
